Amanda & Dan. Wedding. Family Campgrounds. Whidbey Island, WA. August 13, 2012
I love travel and I Love weddings.
So needless to say, I had fun this weekend photographing Amanda and Dan’s wedding. I also was excited to experience a new island! I have to say, Whidbey is a cool island. I had never been to the Pacific Northwest before and it is amazingly beautiful there. Whidbey is a really cool place, and you can drive to it, or take a 10 minute ferry ride, so it is much more accessible than the Vineyard.
The wedding was on a large property owned by Amanda’s family. On the property are 2 rustic cabins and a breathtaking view of Useless Bay (yes that is its real name, and no it is really pretty, they call it that because it is shallow and therefore useless to boats.)
The two did everything themselves (well ok with the help of loving family and friends). Amanda’s sister did the floral arrangement with flowers purchased at Pike Place Market. Her cousin made dinner (Salmon of course) from fish he got at Pike Place. I am hoping it was thrown through the air first, however I was not there to confirm.
This wedding was pretty special for me because of all the personal touches it had. Also because it represented the love their family and friends have for them by coming out and helping create this amazing wedding. Most of their friends flew across the country to be there. Also it was special because I LOVE the pics!
